Damien is a multi award winning freelance cartographer, and geospatial design consultant. His creativity and vision are the driving force behind Demap.
Demap was established in 2001 and has since developed into a dynamic cartographic design company specialising in online maps, and custom maps for publishing (ebooks and magazines), educational mapping, atlases, road/city maps, relief maps and GIS mapping.
He graduated from RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) University Australia in 1998 with a Bachelor of Geomatics. His award winning cartography has since taken him around the world working in the UK, Singapore, and the US. Recently he held the position of Chief Cartographer for the limited edition Earth Blue atlas (USD$7,500), Macmillan Primary Atlas, and the Telegram World Map and Globe.
Damien is on the editorial board of the British Cartographic Journal and serves on the board of directors for IMIA (Americas). He is also co-chair on the Commission of Map Design for the International Cartographic Association (ICA).
